These are silhouettes designed to be cut or stamped from sheet metal for Halloween decorations. The Vulture (and the Cemetery Sign from the first page) are the only ones to be completed so far.

Here is an old watercolor..The Gambler! Pirate published as a book cover on a novel in Turkey named what else.. Kumarbaz (The Gambler). Wish I could at least get a copy.
